The Story of Us

We first met…
on a boat in Lake Austin on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

A large group of friends (new and old) met on the lake for the 4th of July weekend, which was also Tiffanie’s birthday. The group had the best time and agreed to meet up the next day to watch fireworks at Tiffanie’s apartment because she had the best view of the skyline. When the group was reunited, drinks were had, snacks were enjoyed, and songs by Toby Keith were sang.

As friends, later that week the group met for dinner on South Congress and made plans for paddle boarding the next weekend. Drew’s close friends were having people over for a BBQ, so they all got together again. That night, Drew gave Tiffanie a ride home and conversation was fun and easy. They talked about their dogs and laughed when Drew misunderstood that Tiffanie said she puts her “dog in the trunk,” not realizing she drives a Jeep.

They shared a common interest in fitness and made plans to go to his sister’s spin studio together, which was about a 45-minute drive. They went every weekend together and got to know each other. It was evident they loved spending time together. Before they knew it, they found themselves asking each other, “are we in love?”

When Drew and Tiffanie get married, they will have just celebrated 5 years together, full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Drew’s Version

“I met Tiff on a boat with mutual friends. Because there was such a large group, we didn’t get the chance to actually meet but I immediately noticed her fun and magnetic personality. She may not have remembered me but I noticed her.

We met again the next day for the 4th of July. I was invited through a mutual friend. I knew at that party I wanted to spend more time with her. She wasn’t sure what my name was.

With the same mutual friends, we had dinner and I started finding reasons to be around her. At the time, I didn’t know why, I just knew if she was going, so was I.

We went paddle boarding and then I invited her to a party to watch an MMA fight. I gave her a ride home and we laughed the entire way.

We started going to my sister’s spin studio. She loved spin (me not so much, but that’s OK). The drive was long and we started to get to know each other. After another boat trip, I knew for sure I wanted to be with her.”

“I had just moved to Austin in April and loved how friendly and social the town was. I met some friends at the dog park and we went on a boat to Lake Austin. I was hungover from celebrating my birthday and doing my best to rally.

We were all having a great time. I was bad with names but I knew someone was named Keegan.

Drew and I started to spend more time together over the next couple of weeks in larger, group settings.

One night, he drove me home from a friend’s house and we laughed the entire way because he thought I wrongfully put my dog in the trunk of my car.

I loved spin and his sister had recently opened a studio about 45 minutes north of downtown. We started going every weekend and I quickly found myself joining family brunch as his ‘friend.’

Spending time together felt easy and I really enjoyed it. I remember him dropping me off after class, only to get upstairs, call him, and ask if he wanted to come back to go on a walk around the lake.

I didn’t fully realize, but he was my favorite person to spend my time with.”

The Engagement

The future Mr. and Mrs. Soucy got engaged at a beautiful, secluded airbnb in the Fredericksburg Hill Country. It was a rainy November morning on the backyard porch when Drew dropped to one knee and asked Tiffanie to marry him. They celebrated at the best wineries, doing one of Tiffanie’s favorite past times - drinking wine.
